Occupational Therapist Job in Galveston, TX

You will work as an Occupational Therapist at UTMB Jennie Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas. This is a 13-week contract position based in the Pavilion unit, where you will direct evaluation, development, coordination, and implementation of occupational therapy interventions for patients across the facility.

Schedule and Duration

• Monday through Friday, 5 days per week
• 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
• Shift hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with one hour for lunch, or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with 30 minutes for lunch (to be determined during your interview)
• No weekend work
• Holiday rotation as needed; unit may be closed during holidays
• Contract begins September 28, 2026

Your Role

You will serve as a patient advocate, ensuring that occupational therapy delivery meets all legal, ethical, and institutional standards. Your responsibilities include directing patient evaluations, developing treatment plans, coordinating care interventions, and implementing therapeutic services aligned with best practices.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,685.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program
• Current licensure in the State of Texas
• Minimum three years of outpatient experience
• Certified Hand Therapy (CHT) credential, or extensive hand therapy experience
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
