Operating Room RN Job in Arlington, VA

Virginia Hospital Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Operating Room located in the Outpatient Pavilion. This 13-week travel assignment offers a stable day shift schedule with no weekend or holiday requirements.

Schedule & Hours

• 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each
• 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Late stay sign-up required for call coverage
• Block scheduling model

Role Details

You will work in a 6-operating-room unit with an average daily census of 25 patients. Your patient ratio is 1:1, and you may float to the main OR as needed. The facility serves adult and geriatric populations across multiple surgical specialties.

Surgical Specialties

• General Surgery
• Gynecology
• Breast and Plastics
• Urology
• Orthopedic
• Podiatry
• Ophthalmology

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years OR RN experience
• Proficiency across all listed specialties, with emphasis on ortho, breast/plastics, urology, GYN, and general
• Laparoscopic-assisted cases, arthroscopy, total joint replacement, mastectomy, hysterectomy, cystoscopy, and additional surgical procedures
• Surgical equipment operation
• BLS certification and active Virginia nursing license

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS and CNOR certifications
• Epic charting system experience
• Charge nurse experience
• Community hospital background
• Trauma Level I or Level II facility experience

You will have access to interdisciplinary support including IV teams, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and interpretation services.
