CVOR Technologist Job in Carlsbad, NM

Carlsbad Medical Center seeks a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) to work as a CVOR Technologist in our 6-operating room unit. This is a 13-week travel assignment beginning November 16, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• Day shift: 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, 4x10-hour shifts
• Call required: minimum 1 weekday per week, with weekend rotation
• On-call shifts Monday–Friday 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM; Saturday–Sunday 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
• Weekly pay: $1,540
• No 48-hour guarantee or blocked scheduling available

Role Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room, including sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions
• Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to surgeon during procedures
• Manage sterile field and specimens simultaneously
• Perform counts of sponges and supplies to prevent foreign retained objects
• Maintain 1:1 patient ratio in a high-volume unit (250–300 monthly procedures)

Required Qualifications

• CST certification (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• 2+ years of surgical technician experience
• Experience in general, orthopedic, OBGYN, podiatry, urology, plastics, endoscopy, trauma, and robotic surgery (DaVinci)
• Adult and pediatric experience

• Fingerprint background check required for all New Mexico travelers
