ICU Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Opportunity:

RN - ICU Neuro

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with 12-hour day/night variable shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week, except during holidays when the unit is closed
• Float between Neuro Critical Care ICU and MSICU units with possible float to other critical care and inpatient units as needed
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• No on-call or callback requirements
• Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours that can be utilized in hour increments; unit typically low censuses in 4-hour increments
• Minimum 2 years of experience required with 1 travel assignment preferred
• Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU background with strong neurological assessment skills required
• Experience with EVDs and ICP monitoring required
• Experience as a Neuro Interventionalist is a plus
• EPIC charting experience required
• Perform Neuro assessments and basic bedside ICU procedures including line placement and intubation
• Neuro-specific procedures include bolt and drain bedside placements with Neurosurgery
• Treat patients including Stroke, TBI, head injury, and Neurosurgery patients
• Must be a hard worker, resilient, manage change well, able to work independently, and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS (AHA or ARC), and NIHSS
• EKG exam required during compliance
