ICU Registered Nurse Job in Fishers, IN

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at IU Health Fishers Hospital. This is a resource traveler position with a duration of 84 days, starting November 16, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed hours vary: 8 and 10-hour shifts equal 40 hours per workweek; 3 twelve-hour shifts equal 36 hours per workweek; 4 twelve-hour shifts equal 48 hours per workweek
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Free parking available
• Scrub dress code: red top, black bottoms

Role and Responsibilities

You will float between ICU, PCU, Medical-Surgical, and the Emergency Department based on departmental needs. You must be able to manage higher patient ratios: ICU 1:2, PCU 1:4, and Medical-Surgical 1:4. You will care for patients with diagnoses including ARDS, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, DKA, AKIs, UTIs, and Acute Shock.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Arterial line and central line management
• BiPAP/CPAP and ventilator management
• Blood product administration
• Continuous IV sedation and paralytics
• CVA/Acute Stroke management
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Emergency medications
• Hypothermia protocol and Arctic Sun operation
• IV insulin protocols and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• PICC line management and sheath removal

Special Procedures and Equipment

You will work with Cath Lab procedures, TR Bands, Sheath Pulls, EEGs, Cardioversion, and Stress Tests. Equipment includes ventilators, Arctic Sun, and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (rare use). Charting system is Cerner, with preferred experience required.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana state RN license required before submission; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required
• Strong PCU experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Local Indiana residents not accepted for this position

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,113.
