Respiratory Therapist Job in Lake Charles, LA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a travel position at CHRISTUS Ochsner St Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. This is a full-time, 91-day assignment beginning November 2, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3x12 night shifts (6:00 PM–6:00 AM at St. Patrick facility; 7:00 PM–7:00 AM at Lake Charles facility)
• Every other weekend and holiday requirement
• No on-call duties
• Weekly pay: $2,155

Role & Responsibilities

You will float between two facilities, providing pulmonary care for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction. Your duties include patient assessments, respiratory care planning, emergency response (Code Blue and White), airway management including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning, aerosolized drug delivery, ventilator management, BiPAP and CPAP device management, oxygen delivery and therapeutic monitoring, chest film analysis, blood gas collection and analysis, EKG analysis, accurate documentation, and equipment cleaning and stocking. RRTs may function as Shift Leader or Team Leader.

Qualifications

• Current RT or RCP License in the state of employment
• BLS via AHA, ACLS via AHA, PALS via AHA
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by NBRC
• Adult ICU experience required; CRTs with critical care experience may be considered
• 1 to 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred
• Ventilator-to-therapist ratio: 5:1

Advanced Skills

Depending on facility needs, you may perform therapeutic gas management and monitoring (INO and HeO2), pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, nocturnal SpO2 evaluation, polysomnography, and transport duties.

Gray scrubs are required. This position offers no on-call requirements and predictable scheduling with every other weekend off.
