Medical Lab Technician Travel Job in Salt Lake City, UT

You will work as a Medical Lab Technician at St. Marks Hospital UT in a Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) lab setting. This is a 13-week assignment beginning September 21, 2026, with the option to extend to 26 weeks.

Schedule & Compensation

• 4x10 night shifts from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 7 on/7 off schedule
• Every other weekend requirement
• No on-call requirements; additional hours may be available during your 7 off week
• Weekly pay: $1,966

Your Responsibilities

• Perform Point of Care Testing in the FSED lab
• Execute daily maintenance, quality control, and calibrations on analyzers
• Conduct patient testing including waived and non-waived tests
• Process specimens: order tests, centrifuge specimens, prepare send-outs for transport, stock lab supplies, and clean lab surfaces
• Perform clerical duties as assigned by Nursing and Lab Director to support FSED operations
• Work independently while interfacing professionally with clinical and lab staff

Equipment & Systems

You will work with Siemens Dimension EXL, Sysmex 1000, Roche Cliniteck, Werfen Top 300, Quidel Triage, Siemens ePOC, Abbott iSTAT, Veritor FLU, Quidel SOFIA, and Aerospray stainer. The facility uses EPIC for EMR; experience with EPIC is preferred.

Requirements

• Current certification as MLS or MLT through ASCP or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a hospital laboratory environment as an MLT or MLS
• Ability to work and communicate professionally with both lab and non-lab individuals
• Adherence to standard lab safety protocols required by CLIA and CAP

Other Details

Pewter-colored scrubs are required; a lab coat will be provided. Experience with the listed analyzers is preferred but not required.
