Operating Room RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Operating Room. This is a 13-week travel assignment beginning August 17, 2026, offering 8-hour variable day shifts with guaranteed 40 hours per week at $2,783.20 weekly.

Shift Details

• Variable day shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, or 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week
• On-call requirement: 4–7 weeknights and 1–2 weekends per week with 30-minute response time
• Call-back minimum: 2 hours
• Weekend shifts and holiday rotation for on-call coverage only

Role and Placement

You will be placed primarily on the General OR Team with float responsibilities to additional facilities as needed. The facility is a 21-OR unit handling 40–60 cases daily, averaging 45 cases. You may be placed on low census or on-call status depending on departmental needs.

Required Experience and Credentials

• Minimum 5+ years of OR experience with at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Experience in a larger facility with comparable OR size of 20+
• Circulating required; scrubbing preferred
• Ortho, Neuro, and Spine experience required
• Da Vinci Robotic experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• General Surgery, GYN, Urology, Plastics, ENT, and GI skills required
• Wisconsin RN License, AHA BLS, and ACLS certification required
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred

Essential Requirements

• Personal vehicle required—cannot rely on rideshare services due to on-call obligations
• Ability to be flexible, manage change effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Any scrub color acceptable
