PCU RN Job in Bismarck, ND

You will provide direct patient care in a progressive care unit (PCU) setting at CHI St Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 27, 2026, working three 12-hour shifts per week at $2,255.04 weekly.

Shift and Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) or night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• No on-call or standby requirement

Patient Care Responsibilities

• Care for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, ETOH, pneumonia, sepsis, influenza, and acute on chronic conditions
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 (occasional 1:5–6 on nights; 1:3 for PCU level care overflow)
• Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, and Lasix
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Work with BiPap, trachs, and Airvo respiratory equipment
• Float assignments to medical-surgical units and occasional ER holds/boarding
• Chart using the EPIC system

Requirements and Orientation

• PCU experience required; telemetry and cardiac nursing background strongly preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS certification required
• Two orientation shifts (12 hours each) scheduled for Friday and Saturday of your first week
• Any color scrubs permitted
