About this role
Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking an RN for a Telemetry position in the Observation Unit. This is a 3rd shift role working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 12-hour schedule. The assignment runs for 89 days, beginning October 5, 2026, with weekly compensation of $2,161.
Your Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level
- Identify patient risk factors and presenting complaints while collecting objective and subjective data
- Develop prioritized patient problem lists based on input from the inter-professional team
- Design and implement patient care actions and interventions relevant to patient culture and age
- Determine desired outcomes in coordination with patient and family in accordance with the medical plan of care
- Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
- Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
- Conduct and document ongoing assessments and responses to procedures and therapies using the nursing process
- Manage and set priorities for the care of multiple patients simultaneously
- Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in the performance of patient care activities
- Monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care provided by other team members
- Identify and address educational needs of patients based on prioritized problems and level of comprehension
- Facilitate patient discharge process including executing discharge orders, discharge teaching, and coordination with Case Management
- Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, patient falls, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
- Apply evidence-based practice, current research, and hospital policies and procedures in all nursing decisions
You will implement professional nursing practice centered on whole-person patient care and creation of a healing and wellness environment, promoting positive group dynamics through words and actions.
