OR RN Job in Houston, TX

You'll work as an RN in the Operating Room at HCA Houston Medical Center, providing circulating and perioperative nursing care across 8 operating rooms. This is a 13-week travel assignment with a start date of July 27, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM (with huddle at 6:45 AM)
• Rotating on-call schedule: weekday evenings 5:00 PM–7:00 AM, and 24-hour weekend coverage Saturday–Sunday 7:00 AM–7:00 AM
• 45-minute response time required for on-call

Clinical Environment

• 1:1 patient ratio during shifts
• Day shift staffed with 8 RNs and 8 scrub techs; total unit team of 13 RNs and 10 scrub techs
• Surgical specialties include general surgery, robotics, colorectal, neuro spine, orthopedic, urology, cardiothoracic, and vascular surgery
• Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery skill set required; neuro spine experience preferred
• Float to other areas as needed

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years OR circulating experience at an acute care hospital
• 5+ years of experience preferred
• CNOR certification preferred
• BLS certification required

Facility Details

• EMR system: Meditech ORM
• Hospital provides scrubs
• Artificial nails, dips, and gels are not permitted

Compensation

• $1,971 weekly
• 91-day assignment

You'll work in a fast-paced, dynamic operating room environment requiring flexibility and strong perioperative skills. This assignment offers the opportunity to practice across multiple surgical specialties with an experienced OR team.
