ED RN Job in Silverdale, WA

St Michael Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for a night shift position in the emergency department. This role offers 3x12 shifts working 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with every other weekend requirement. The assignment runs for 91 days beginning September 28, 2026, with weekly compensation of $2,309.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 56-bed emergency department (expanding to 60–70 beds with hall beds)
• Manage typical emergency diagnoses including cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, respiratory, abdominal pain, and mental health cases
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:3, or 1:4 for low acuity patients
• Monitor cardiac strips and collaborate with monitor techs
• Perform or assist with blood draws as needed
• Work without floating requirements or on-call/standby obligations

Facility Details

The emergency department processes 170–200 patients per day, with dedicated areas including a fast track section (6 beds), triage (5 beds), 18 inpatient holding beds, and a locked psychiatric hall with 6 private treatment rooms. ED Techs handle EKGs; respiratory therapists manage ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and ABG collection. The facility uses EPIC for charting.

Scheduling & Requirements

• Must work holidays in November and December; manager may consider 1 of 3 holidays if unit demands permit
• Extra shifts available but not required
• No floating requirements
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a larger trauma setting required
• Washington state or compact nursing license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC, and NIHSS
• BSN not required

Orientation includes 1 day of compliance (8–10 hours) and 1 day of department orientation (12 hours). Professional scrub colors are acceptable. This is a straightforward opportunity to deliver emergency care in a busy, well-structured setting.
