ED RN Job in Seattle, WA

Virginia Mason Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department in Seattle, Washington. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 28, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,309.

Shift Details

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Expected to work some holidays
• No on-call or standby requirement

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Manage common diagnoses including stroke, STEMI, sepsis, chest pain, psychosis, and behavioral health patients
• Administer drips including insulin, cardiac drips, sedation, and critical drips
• Draw labs, with phlebotomy available to assist as needed
• Monitor telemetry alongside monitor techs using Philips monitors
• Perform breathing treatments; respiratory therapy available for additional support
• Handle rare pediatric cases (approximately 1%) with treat and transfer approach
• Charge nurse experience may be utilized in charge role, particularly on night shifts

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum one year of emergency nursing experience
• Behavioral health experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Valid driver's license at time of submittal
• Preference for candidates who have completed 1–2 travel assignments

• Orientation: one 12-hour shift with an experienced ED RN
