ICU RN Job in Kearney, NE

You'll work as a registered nurse in a 33-bed ICU with an average daily census of 16 patients at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. This is a 126-day travel assignment beginning September 14, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• Day shifts: 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM; night shifts: 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Minimum 2 holidays within contract timeframe
• Self-scheduling into core staff schedule; block scheduling not guaranteed
• Weekly pay: $2,411

Clinical Responsibilities

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult patients
• Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitor equipment with tele tech oversight
• Manage respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilator
• Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Occasional floating to PCU or Med-Surg at ratios of 1:4 or 1:5

Support and Resources

• Nurse aides available based on census
• Healthcare Support tech available 3 days per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM)
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Charting system: EPIC
• On-call availability required; must arrive within 30 minutes if called back

Requirements

• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Pass an open-book skills exam with minimum 90% score during orientation
• Valid driver's license at time of submittal
• BSN not required
• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments
