Med Surg RN Job in Carlsbad, NM

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Medical-Surgical nursing. You will work night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM on a 3x12 schedule, with a weekly pay of $1,900.80.

About the Role

You will provide general medical-surgical inpatient nursing care with a patient ratio of 1:6. Your responsibilities include direct patient care, monitoring, and assessment on a mixed acuity floor. The unit occasionally admits non-critical pediatric patients alongside adult medical-surgical patients.

Assignment Details

• Night shift: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Schedule: 3x12 (three 12-hour shifts per week)
• 13-week contract duration
• Start date: August 31, 2026
• Patient ratio: 1:6

Expectations

• Floating and call required
• Census flex on-call may be required prior to the start of a scheduled shift if census is low
• No structured on-call schedule for Med-Surg
• 48-hour guarantees are not approved
• Blocked scheduling may be accommodated upon request

Clinical Systems & Standards

The facility uses the MedHost EMR system. Scrubs may be any color. You will work in a standard inpatient medical-surgical environment with standard hospital protocols and procedures.

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
