Med Surg RN Job in Hilo, HI

You will provide medical-surgical level nursing care for adult patients 18 and older at Hilo Medical Center, a 50-bed unit. This is a 13-week contract position with flex shift availability.

Position Details

• Shift assignment to be determined; day or night shifts available
• Required to work various shift lengths and different days each week—flexibility is essential
• Scheduled 36 hours per week following your first full week of orientation
• No guarantee of hours or shift preference
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5

Your Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care and nursing interventions for med-surg patients
• May float to surgical pediatrics or transitional care units as needed
• Operate medical equipment including Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes

What You Bring

• Current RN license, active in the State of Hawaii, by start date
• Minimum 2+ years of med-surg or higher level of care nursing experience
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred

• Professional nursing attire
• Closed-toe shoes required
• No specific scrub color requirements

Compensation & Duration

Weekly pay: $2,196. Contract starts September 21, 2026, for 105 days.
