Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Care for adult patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems including cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, and pulmonary conditions
• Accountable for the coordination of direct patient care and patient education
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Weekend requirement: Every other Saturday, off every Sunday
• Self-scheduling type
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Permanent address must be 50+ miles from facility - locals not accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Charting system: Meditech (experience preferred)
• Scrub color: Navy
• Parking: Free in any unrestricted space
• Required skills include: cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, vasoactive drip management, PICC line management, pre/post cardiac cath, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and more
• Patient diagnoses include: CHF, chest pain, stroke pre/post care, COPD, pulmonary embolism, acute/chronic respiratory failure, AFIB, MI, NSTEMI, GI bleed, and end stage renal failure
• Special procedures include: insulin drips for DKA, pre/post cardiac catheterizations, pacemakers, ablations, and cardioversions
• Special equipment includes: Sara Steady, Tenor, Maxi Move, Air Taps, bladder scanner, and vein finder
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and more
