PCU Progressive Care Unit RN Job in Bay City, MI

McLaren Bay Region is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 91-day travel assignment in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week on an every-other-weekend schedule with no on-call responsibilities.

Position Overview

In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients recovering from surgery, managing cardiac events, and those with complex conditions including ventilator-dependent and stroke patients requiring frequent neuro assessments. You will utilize advanced monitoring equipment to track vital signs, telemetry, and critical metrics, performing regular patient assessments and recognizing subtle changes in patient conditions to initiate necessary interventions or life-saving measures.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer complex medications, IV therapies, and titrate drips as ordered
• Monitor telemetry and maintain accurate, timely documentation of nursing care and patient responses
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians and therapists to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families on diseases, treatment plans, and discharge instructions

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in stepdown or progressive care nursing
• Current telemetry monitoring experience
• Cerner EHR experience required
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• Valid Michigan nursing license required

Compensation and Timeline

Weekly pay is $2,125.44. Assignment begins July 27, 2026.
