PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Every other weekend schedule required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Minimum 2 years of RN Stepdown/Progressive Care experience required
• Telemetry monitoring experience required
• Cerner experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)
• Michigan nursing license required
• Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to track vital signs, telemetry, and critical metrics
• Perform regular patient assessments, recognize subtle changes in patient conditions, and initiate necessary interventions or life-saving measures
• Administer complex medications, IV therapies, and titrate drips as ordered
• Provide specialized care for patients recovering from surgery, cardiac events, or those with complex conditions such as vent patients and stroke patients requiring neuro checks
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians and therapists to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families on diseases, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing care and patient responses
