Med Surg RN Job in Pueblo, CO

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 24-bed Med/Surg Oncology unit at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital in Pueblo, Colorado. This is a day shift position (3x12) in an acute care setting where you will care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide direct patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, supported by nurse aides at 1:5 ratio
• Titrate drips including analgesics for pain management, anticoagulants for blood clots, and antihypertensives for blood pressure control
• Read and interpret your own telemetry strips
• Operate respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow oxygen systems, and ventilators
• Manage common diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure
• Complete charting using the EPIC system

Scheduling and expectations:

• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available
• Minimum of 6–9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Holiday requirements apply
• First-to-float status within Zone 1 based on department needs
• Call or standby requirements determined by Nurse Manager

Required qualifications:

• Valid Colorado nursing license
• ACLS (AHA) certification
• BLS (AHA) certification
• NIHSS certification and demonstrated experience
• Navy blue scrubs required

This assignment runs for 91 days, starting November 16, 2026. You will earn $2,073.60 per week. A BSN is not required for this position.
