RN - ER Float Pool

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Float within Zone 4 covering a 60-mile radius based around Garden City, KS, including Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital (Ulysses), St. Catherine-Dodge City, and St. Catherine-Garden City
• No home base facility - assignment location varies by schedule and will be communicated on or before Monday start date
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
• Treat between 6-49 patients per day depending on location
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
• Administer standard ER medications and common drips
• Responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry strips independently (no monitor technician available)
• Perform Point of Care lab testing after training
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 on site
• Technicians available to support unit secretary work, assist nurses, and help with triage
• Schedule created by leadership based on needs
• Unit-specific orientation is 2-3 days
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
