Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required, holidays as needed
• Float required between all campuses as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:6, with one unit on a rotating basis where a nurse may have 7 patients of equivalent acuity
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics
• Patient diagnoses include CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility
• Inpatient rehab department providing specialized care for qualified patients with rehabilitation needs including post-stroke, aneurysm, post-op surgical, brain injury, and spinal cord injury
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; no first-time travelers
• Travel experience required
• Acute care rehab experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• Required certifications: BLS
• Skills required: interpretation of dysrhythmias, MS/Tele, EKG interpretation, interpretation of laboratory results, medication reconciliation, patient health questionnaire history and allergies, vital signs including blood pressure, respirations, temperature, and pulse
• Procedures include dressing changes, aseptic/sterile procedure tray setup, capillary blood draws, specimen labeling, throat and urine specimen collection, phlebotomy, telephone triage, and pharmacy calls/patient refill requests
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
