RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Med Surg Neuro Unit - strong neurology experience required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg experience required; 3+ years preferred
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Large hospital experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Patient ratios: Stepdown 1:3-4, Med Surg 1:6-7 - team nursing model utilized
• 44-bed unit serving as a center of excellence for stroke, neurosurgeries, and other neurological disorders
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Perform neuro checks, LP, tPA administration, and NIHSS assessments
• Must be willing to work both Stepdown and Med Surg sides of the unit
• Self-scheduling
• Must be willing to work 2 of 3 end-of-year holidays if all three fall within assignment; at least 1 of 2 if only 2 holidays fall within assignment
• May be floated between like units or campuses within a 20-mile radius
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: Conscious Sedation, IV Start
• Active RN license in state or compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines required
• EPIC experience preferred
• ADN accepted for this position
