RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Night shift position with 48 guaranteed hours per week
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Travel experience required
• Team nursing model with patient ratios of 1:6/7 on nights and weekends, with support from PCC, RN, and other staff
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• Block scheduling not available; weekend block may be considered
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of submission
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Patient diagnoses include CHF, AMI, post cath lab, PPM placements, ablations, and general Med Surg cases
• Responsibilities include verifying rhythm strips, managing drips at set rate, and titrating heparin per protocol
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
• Unit consists of 48 beds with a daily census of 42
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: Med/Surg, MS/Tele, starting and maintaining IVs
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• ADN accepted; BSN not required for this position
• Must hold an active RN license in Tennessee or a compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
• If assignment includes end-of-year holidays, must be willing to work 2 of 3 holidays if all three fall during the assignment, or at least 1 if only 2 holidays fall during the assignment
