Respiratory Therapist Job in Saint Louis, MO

You will work as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) on a 3x12 night shift schedule from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM at Mercy Hospital South in Saint Louis, Missouri. This is a 13-week travel assignment with 36 weekly guaranteed hours and potential for 48 guaranteed hours with approval.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide respiratory care across multiple hospital units including SICU, CCU, CVICU, ED, Neuro, and Trauma
• Manage patients on Avea ventilators, LTV transport ventilators, V60 BiPAP with Bellavista, Vapotherm, and Airvo high-flow systems
• Perform blood gas draws and processing on GEM equipment
• Interpret blood gas results and adjust therapy as needed
• Float between units and respond to on-call requirements as needed by the facility
• Work weekend hours as required

Required qualifications:

• Current RRT licensure with the Missouri Board for Respiratory Care
• BLS and ACLS certification from AHA
• Minimum 1 year of experience in adult critical care
• Experience in high-volume, busy emergency departments with trauma exposure

Preferred qualifications:

• PALS certification
• Blood gas draw, processing, and interpretation skills

The facility uses the EPIC electronic medical record system. Pediatric patients are stabilized in the ED and transferred to a sister hospital. You will be required to wear black scrubs per Mercy standards. This position offers you the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment managing critically ill adult patients across diverse clinical settings.
