ICU RN Job in Kearney, NE

CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska is seeking a Registered Nurse for their 33-bed Intensive Care Unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 31, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Minimum of 2 holidays required within the contract period
• Up to 7 days of requested time off per 13-week contract
• Self-scheduling for travelers added into core staff schedule; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for ICU patients with a typical 1:2–3 nurse-to-patient ratio; average daily census is 16
• Manage patients with diagnoses including trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose and substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent placement, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress
• Titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitor system with tele tech oversight
• Manage respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilator support
• Float to PCU or occasionally Med-Surg with typical ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
• Chart using EPIC electronic health record system
• 1 shift of unit-specific orientation provided

Requirements and Qualifications

• Current Nebraska RN license required prior to submission
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• BSN not required
• Valid driver's license required at time of submission
• If placed on call and called back in, must be able to arrive within 30 minutes
• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments
