PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend rotation required
• Holiday rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers welcome
• Patient ratio experience required at 1:5 (PCU ratios)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Cardiac telemetry experience required
• Must demonstrate management and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Peripheral line care and management required
• PICC line management required
• Must be able to titrate drips including cardiac, vasoactive, and insulin drips
• Skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), IV insulin protocols, non-invasive airway management, tracheostomy care, and wound care/wound vac
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Floating to other campuses required as needed
• Unit is a 34-bed General Medical Progressive Care Unit with all telemetry-monitored beds
• Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department (CCMD) provides monitoring surveillance
• Patient population includes adults with diagnoses such as stroke, renal disorders, sepsis, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, and hematological disorders
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Self-scheduling format
