ICU RN Job in Lexington, Kentucky

Baptist Healthcare System, Inc. is seeking a registered nurse for its Intensive Care Unit in Lexington, Kentucky. You will work 3rd shift on a 3x12 schedule, earning $2,418 weekly. This is an 89-day travel assignment beginning October 19, 2026.

Your Role

As an ICU RN, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care grounded in evidence-based practice and current research. You will perform detailed patient assessments, collect objective and subjective data, and develop prioritized problem lists in coordination with the interprofessional team. Your clinical decision-making will incorporate all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person, with attention to culture, age, and developmental level
• Determine desired outcomes in coordination with patients and families according to the medical plan of care
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within your RN scope of practice
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Conduct ongoing assessments and document responses to procedures and therapies
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in patient care activities
• Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and family members
• Identify and address patient educational needs related to prioritized problems
• Facilitate the discharge process by executing discharge orders and coordinating with Case Management
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measures, including patient satisfaction, falls prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction
• Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions
