Job Details:

• Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 shifts available
• Every other weekend, floating, and holidays within the contract are required
• 48-hour contracts are available with overtime billed after 48 hours - please indicate preference at time of submission
• Longer assignments through January 9, 2027 are available but not required
• Travelers must work two of the three winter holidays
• Typical patient ratio: 1:2-3
• Must be willing to float to Stepdown Unit, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units to care for ICU patients being held
• Strong neuro critical care experience required, including post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke management
• Required skills: ventilator management, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, dysrhythmia recognition and management, emergency response and critical care management
• Patient populations include neurosurgical and post-stroke, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical, trauma, sepsis and MODS, heart failure, and post-cardiac cath
• Treats adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
• Three years of critical care experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission required; no exceptions
• Must be proficient in Epic; no exceptions
• EKG testing required - must score 80% or higher; one attempt given with no remediation available
• Required certifications: BLS (American Heart Association only), ACLS (American Heart Association only), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
