Job Details:

• Whole House Float position covering ICU, PCU, and Medical-Surgical units - must be comfortable working all three specialties
• 3x12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Staffing needs are re-evaluated every 4 hours, with potential to float 2-3 times per shift
• Day shift float: could potentially float at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM
• Night shift float: could potentially float at 11:00 PM
• One MS unit (Inpatient Rehab) is located at a Community Hospital a couple of blocks from the main hospital
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period
• Patient ratios: ICU 2:1 | PCU 5:1 | MS 6:1 (may flex up to 7:1); must have experience with ratios of at least 1:5
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics
• Must be able to work without CNA support
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience from a large Level I or Level II facility required
• Charge experience preferred
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required clinical skills include:
   - IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management
   - Central line care and management, arterial line management
   - Blood product administration
   - Trach management and non-invasive airway support including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP
   - Ventilator management and chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac)
   - Cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
   - Continuous IV sedation, emergency medications
   - Titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
   - IV insulin protocols, 12-lead EKG/ECG
   - Suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and more
• Self-scheduling with 24-hour orientation
