ED - Emergency Room

Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
• Average of 63 patients treated per day in the ER
• Treat common diagnoses including abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
• ER holds are intermixed within the ER department
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry independently as no monitor technicians are available
• Will be trained and perform Point of Care lab testing
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 for breathing treatments and ABGs
• Charge nurse takes patient assignments
• Technicians available to support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and assist in triage
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Unit/department specific orientation: 2-3 days
• Must be present in state during week of orientation even if first day modules are remote
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Travelers are expected to float throughout a zone covering a 60-mile radius from the zone's city center
• Housing must be obtained to make floating throughout the full 60-mile zone feasible
