Physical Therapist Job in Salem, VA

You'll work as a Physical Therapist in an inpatient rehabilitation setting at Lewisgale Medical Center VA. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 28, 2026, on a 5x8 day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Role and Setting

The rehabilitation unit has 35 beds, and you'll manage a patient ratio of 4–5 patients per therapist. You'll work alongside 1–2 technicians and an administrative assistant who support the unit. There is no floating policy, so you'll remain within this specialized rehabilitation environment throughout your assignment.

Equipment and Tools

You'll utilize specialized therapy equipment including:

• C-Mill
• FES bike
• BITs (Bilateral Intensity Training)
• NMES (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation)
• Excite

Documentation occurs through the Medi-tech system, so familiarity with electronic health records is important.

Requirements

You must hold a current license as a Physical Therapist. Training or experience in an inpatient rehabilitation setting is preferred. Your dress code will require scrubs; navy and maroon colors are not permitted.

Compensation and Schedule

This position offers weekly pay of $2,022 for a 40-hour work week. The assignment runs for 91 days, providing a structured commitment with predictable day-shift hours that allow for a stable schedule while you work in the travel healthcare space.
