CVOR Technologist Job in Harrisburg, PA

You will work as a Surgical Technologist in the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Central – UPMC Harrisburg. This is a 90-day travel assignment on a 4x10 days schedule, earning $2,801 per week. Your start date is August 10, 2026.

Your Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions before procedures begin
• Assemble both sterile and non-sterile equipment and verify proper working condition prior to surgeries
• Prepare patients for surgery, including washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic incision sites
• Assist the surgical team with donning sterile gowns and gloves
• Pass instruments and sterile supplies efficiently to surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures
• Hold retractors or instruments, cut sutures, and sponge or suction the operative site under surgeon supervision
• Count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments throughout procedures to maintain accuracy
• Assist in the preparation, care, and disposal of specimens for laboratory analysis
• Ensure all medications are properly labeled and distributed according to established policies
• Assist with patient transport to recovery and clean and restock the operating room post-surgery
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through continued alertness to safety hazards and aseptic technique

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC) credential
• Compliance with PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73
