Opportunity:

Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech CVOR

Job Details:

• Work 4 days per week with an estimated 10 hours per week
• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions prior to procedures
• Assemble both sterile and non-sterile equipment and adjust and check equipment to ensure proper operation
• Prepare patients for surgery including washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic incision sites
• Assist the surgical team with donning sterile gowns and gloves
• Pass instruments and other sterile supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures
• Hold retractors or instruments, cut sutures, sponge or suction the operative site under surgeon supervision
• Assist with counting sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments
• Assist in preparation, care for, and disposal of specimens taken for laboratory analysis
• Ensure all medications are labeled and distributed to the nurse according to established policies and procedures
• Assist with patient transport to recovery room and clean and restock the operating room following procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through continued alertness to safety hazards and proper aseptic technique
• Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience required
• Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC)
• PA state compliance requirements: PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73
