ICU RN Job in Kansas City, MO

Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri is seeking an experienced RN for a travel assignment in their 32-bed Intensive Care Unit. This is a 91-day engagement beginning October 26, 2026.

Position Details

• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7 PM–7 AM)
• Guaranteed: 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required, or 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule period
• Patient ratio: 2:1
• Weekly pay: $2,023.56

Clinical Requirements

You must have a minimum of 2 years ICU experience with demonstrated competency in:

• Trauma patient management
• IV administration of vasoactive medications
• Ventilator management
• Chest tube management
• Care of post-operative surgical patients
• Cardiac rhythm identification and management
• Hemodynamic monitoring
• Care of stroke patients
• Hemodynamic and ventilator management at an advanced level

Unit Capabilities

The unit performs chest tube placement, ventriculostomy, moderate sedation, CRRT, therapeutic hypothermia, ECMO, arterial line, and central line placement. The unit secretary is available 7:30 AM to midnight.

Float Assignments

You may float to like units including cardiac telemetry, progressive care, burn unit, ED inpatient overflow, and other units as needed.

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS

Preferred Certification

• TNCC (not required)

Documentation uses Meditech. Dress code: Navy scrub top (no t-shirts), navy or black scrub bottoms, solid navy/white/black jackets and undershirts.
