Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Day shift position with every other weekend requirement
• No self-scheduling - block scheduling available with accommodations made as much as possible
• Generally every 3rd holiday required - expect to work one winter holiday
• No on-call or standby requirement unless shift cancellation is requested or volunteered
• Unit consists of 30 all-private beds with an average census of 20
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Nurse aides on unit with generally 2-3 available per shift
• Common patient diagnoses include dementia, post-surgical, falls, influenza, pneumonia, failure to thrive, and cancer
• Preferred experience with chest tubes, pain management, TPN, CBI, and wound care
• Charge nurse experience is a plus but not required - may be asked to work charge if experienced
• CPAP equipment managed by respiratory therapy on unit
• Telemetry on the floor with monitor techs available to read
• Floating may be required to PCU for MedSurg overflow or low acuity PCU patients
• Charting system: EPIC
• Dress code: Any solid color scrubs - no patterns or designs
• Two days of nursing department orientation and one day on the floor
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Must reside outside of a 50-mile radius
