PCU Registered Nurse Job in Greensboro, NC

Cone Health – The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Greensboro, NC. This is a travel nursing position offering competitive pay and the opportunity to develop your acute care skills in a supportive environment.

Position Details

• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required; holidays as needed
• Duration: 91 days, starting November 16, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,099.52
• Patient ratio: 5 patients per nurse
• Unit size: 30 beds

Clinical Focus

You will care for adults and geriatric patients with primary diagnoses including Congestive Heart Failure, rule-out myocardial infarction, Acute Coronary Syndrome, and arrhythmias. Secondary focus areas include respiratory conditions such as COPD and pneumonia. Common patient diagnoses are Heart Failure, Respiratory Failure, NSTEMI, COPD, and Pneumonia.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Cardiac Telemetry experience
• EPIC charting system experience
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)

Key Clinical Skills

• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Blood product administration
• Central line care and management
• Arterial blood gas interpretation
• Dysrhythmia interpretation
• IV insulin protocols and drip titration
• Cardiac drip titration
• High flow nasal cannula management
• Pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care

Unit Support

You will have access to interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Floating to other units or campuses may be required.
