Med Surg RN Job in Des Moines, IA

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN for its Medical-Surgical Neuro unit. You will provide direct patient care in a 12-bed environment supporting patients with neurological conditions and post-operative needs.

Your Role

As an RN, you will:

• Deliver comprehensive patient care across the Med Surg Neuro specialty
• Work 12.5-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Follow an every-other-weekend schedule
• Follow an every-other-holiday schedule
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams
• Monitor patient vitals, administer medications, and respond to clinical changes
• Document care activities and maintain accurate patient records

What We Offer

This is a 90-day travel assignment beginning September 21, 2026. You will earn $2,259 per week for your nursing expertise. MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is a well-established acute-care facility serving the Des Moines community with comprehensive inpatient services.

Requirements

You must hold a current RN license in Iowa and have experience in Medical-Surgical nursing or a related acute-care specialty. Night-shift experience is valuable. You should be comfortable with the every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday rotation and ready to transition into the role promptly.
