RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work under the supervision of the unit Supervisor/Manager/Director
• Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Assess physical, psychological, and social dimensions and educational needs of patients on admission
• Formulate and implement written care plans within 24 hours of admission, revising as necessary every 24 hours
• Provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families
• Educate patients, friends, and family on conditions, medications, and self-care skills
• Recognize changes in patient status and provide appropriate intervention and documentation
• Prioritize care based on individual patient needs with a strong focus on patient education
• Initiate appropriate referrals in collaboration with case management to meet discharge needs
• Maintain continuity of care by documenting and communicating actions and continuing patient needs
• Every other weekend schedule required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 2+ years of Med Surg experience required
• Experience floating to PCU required
• Proficiency with telemetry required
• Must be able to read and interpret heart rhythms
• Must pass a dysrhythmia test prior to working on the floor
• Active Michigan nursing license required with LARA and/or Nursys verification
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)
• Skills checklist current within one year pertinent to Med Surg/Tele required
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required
