NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work in a Level III surgical NICU with 40 beds operating 24/7
• Self-scheduling available with manager adjustments to maintain safe staffing levels
• Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Average daily census of 30 patients
• Care for neonatal patients including prematurity/extreme prematurity, RDS, respiratory failure, neonatal sepsis, HIE, neonatal seizures, congenital heart defects, and other medical or surgical conditions requiring intensive neonatal care
• Perform and manage procedures including PICC lines, UVC, UAC, broviac care, bubble CPAP, high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and therapeutic hypothermia
• Operate special equipment including chest tubes, pigtail catheters, jet vents, oscillators, conventional vents, nitric oxide, arterial and central lines, and hypothermia units
• Proficiency in neonatal dosage calculations, arterial line management, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), and administration of blood and blood products required
• Attend trauma codes and care for pregnant mothers as needed in coordination with sister facility
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 2 years of NICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP
• AHA certifications required
• Royal blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers accepted
