Emergency Department RN Job in Carlsbad, NM

Join Carlsbad Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. This is a 13-week travel assignment offering day shift hours from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM on a 4x10 schedule. You'll earn $2,170 weekly and work in a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department with a 4:1 patient ratio.

Position Requirements:

• 2+ years of emergency department experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• TNCC required; ENPC and NRP preferred
• New Mexico fingerprint clearance required for all traveling nurses

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide shift accountability for emergency room patient care utilizing the nursing process
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgment in planning and delivering safe patient care
• Maintain strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care
• Apply knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel

Assignment Details:

• Floating within your scope and experience is required; ICU is the typical float unit
• Full uniform required; no designated scrub color
• EMR system: MedHost (EDIS)
• Must provide 2-hour notice if unable to work a shift
• Maximum of 1 RTO per 6-week schedule; RTO blackout dates apply for 1 summer and 1 winter holiday dependent on department needs
• Blocked scheduling and 48-hour guarantees are not approved
