PCU RN Job in Hermitage, TN

You will work as an RN on the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, TN. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 14, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Weekly pay: $1,772
• Self-scheduling with 4-week schedules

Role Details

You will care for patients with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on days and 1:5 to 1:6 on nights. You may float between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed. Hourly rounding on days and every 2-hour rounding on nights are expected, along with AIDET protocols for patient experience.

Required Skills and Experience

• BLS and ACLS certification
• Critical thinking and EKG rhythm interpretation
• Cardiac drip, insulin drip, and heparin drip management
• Peripheral IV insertion
• BiPAP and high-flow oxygen delivery systems
• Stroke and post-cardiac catheterization care
• Tube feedings, NG tubes, and Dobhoff tubes

Preferred Experience

• Peritoneal dialysis

Equipment and Procedures

You will work with BiPAPs, high-flow O2, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis equipment, and wound vacs. Procedures you may perform include peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, Dobhoff/NG tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and wound vac troubleshooting. Documentation occurs in Meditech.
