PCU RN Job in Nashville, TN

Join Centennial Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in our 30-bed Progressive Care Unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment working three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), beginning September 7, 2026.

Unit Overview

You will work in a combined acute care and step-down environment with 22 acute care beds and 8 neuro step-down beds. Patient ratios are 6:1 on the acute care side and 4:1 on the neuro step-down side. The unit specializes in stroke patients and neurological cases, providing an excellent foundation for nurses considering ICU roles.

Your Role

Your responsibilities include direct patient care, bedside shift reports, personal patient connections, and participation in daily unit huddles. You will manage a range of clinical equipment and support systems:

• Vital sign monitoring
• High-flow oxygen and Vapotherm delivery
• BiPAP and mechanical ventilation support
• Chest tubes and tracheostomy management
• Various continuous drips and cardiac monitoring
• Suction and airway management

You may also assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures and chest tube placements. Documentation is handled through the Meditech system. After orientation, experienced nurses are eligible to float as needed. Weekend shifts are required.

Requirements

You must hold a current BLS certification. If assigned to neuro step-down duties, both BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Step-down experience is preferred for neuro step-down assignments. Strong nursing fundamentals, time management, and critical thinking skills are essential.

Compensation & Schedule

Weekly pay is $1,985. You will work night shifts (3x12 per week) over 91 days. Black, blue, or grey scrubs are required; any color scrubs are permitted on Fridays.
