PCU RN Job in Hermitage, TN

You will work as an RN in the Progressive Care Unit at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, TN. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 19, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• Three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Unit uses self-scheduling with 4-week schedule cycles

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on days and 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
• Perform hourly rounding on days and every 2-hour rounding on nights
• Follow AIDET communication standards and maintain communication boards
• May float between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed
• Document using Meditech system

Clinical Skills and Experience Required

• Critical thinking and EKG rhythm interpretation
• Cardiac drip, insulin drip, and heparin drip management
• Peripheral IV insertion and maintenance
• Bipap, high-flow O2, and multiple oxygen delivery systems
• Stroke and post-cardiac catheterization care
• Tube feedings and NG/Dobhoff tube management

Equipment and Procedures

• Work with bipaps, high-flow O2, vapotherm, Alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis, and wound vacs
• Perform or assist with peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, Dobhoff/NG tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and wound vac troubleshooting
• Peritoneal dialysis experience is preferred

Requirements

• RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Black scrubs required as uniform

Compensation

Weekly pay: $1,898
