PCU Registered Nurse Job in Knoxville, TN

Join North Metro Knoxville Medical as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU), also known as Stepdown. This is a 13-week travel assignment offering day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, three days per week on a 12-hour schedule.

Assignment Details

• 72 guaranteed hours bi-weekly
• Weekly pay: $2,077
• No 48-hour guarantee, block schedule, floating to other units, or on-call requirements
• Holidays required; RTO blackout dates can be discussed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Your Role

You will provide total patient care in a 28-bed Med-Surg Stepdown unit with a patient ratio of 5:1, occasionally 6:1. Your responsibilities include direct patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with the clinical team to support patients transitioning from acute care.

Required Qualifications

• Current Tennessee RN license
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR system

What to Expect

This position offers stability with no floating between units, allowing you to focus on continuity of care. Royal blue scrubs are the standard uniform. The facility provides a structured environment where you can develop expertise in progressive care nursing while maintaining a predictable work schedule during your assignment.
