PCU RN Job in Hermitage, TN

You'll work as an RN in the Progressive Care Unit at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, TN. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting October 19, 2026, with three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You'll earn $1,898 weekly.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
• Perform every 2-hour rounding and document in the Meditech system
• Follow AIDET communication standards and maintain communication boards
• May float between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed
• Perform procedures including peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, NG/Dobhoff tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and wound vac troubleshooting

Required Experience & Skills

• Critical thinking skills and EKG rhythm interpretation
• Cardiac drip, insulin drip, and heparin drip experience
• Peripheral IV skills
• Experience with bipaps, high flow O2, and multiple oxygen delivery systems
• Stroke and post-cardiac catheterization care experience
• Tube feeding and NG/Dobhoff tube experience
• Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred

Equipment & Technology

You'll work with bipaps, high flow O2, vapotherm, Alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis equipment, and wound vacs. Documentation occurs via Meditech.

Unit Culture & Scheduling

The unit uses self-scheduling with 4-week schedule cycles. Every other weekend is required. Wear black scrubs as the required uniform.

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
