ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with possible scheduling in evening and night shift times: 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM, or 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• One winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's) and one summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day) required
• No on-call or standby requirements
• No floating requirements
• Gray scrubs required and are provided by the facility
• Work in a State Certified Level III Trauma Center with 2 triage beds, 2 trauma bays, and 7 additional beds
• Treat approximately 40 patients per day with nurse-to-patient ratios of up to 3-4 to 1 during peak periods
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, falls, chest pain, with approximately 20% pediatric volume
• Administer common drips including antibiotics, cardiac, Heparin, TPA, and insulin
• Required to read own cardiac monitor strips using Phillips monitors
• Perform 12-lead EKGs alongside CNAs, EMTs, paramedics, and LPNs
• Draw labs when starting an IV in coordination with phlebotomy team
• Transport patients on cardiac monitoring alongside primary nurse or ACLS-certified staff
• Chart using EPIC system
• 3-year or more ED experience preferred with strong communication and assessment skills
• Prior travel experience preferred but not required
• BSN not required
• Must reside outside of a 50-mile radius
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC
