Physical Therapist Job in Abilene, TX

You will provide physical therapy services in a long-term care setting at Coronado Healthcare Center, a senior living community in Abilene, Texas. This is a temporary position with a 91-day duration, starting November 16, 2026.

Position Details

• Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour days (day shift)
• No on-call or weekend requirements
• Weekly pay: $2,361.60

Your Responsibilities

• Assess patients to accurately diagnose and identify deficits in movement and functional ability
• Perform comprehensive evaluations, including history, systems review, and specific tests and measures
• Develop individualized, patient-centered treatment plans focused on reducing pain, restoring function, and preventing disability
• Select and apply treatment techniques based on evaluation findings and physician orders
• Conduct ongoing reassessment of patient progress and treatment response
• Initiate and manage discharge planning from the first visit through completion of care
• Supervise and delegate to ancillary staff and students in accordance with state law and department policy
• Complete accurate and timely documentation per accreditation and insurance requirements
• Communicate with patients, families, caregivers, and the healthcare team to maximize care benefits
• Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers on identified needs
• Participate in quality improvement activities and professional development
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff

Qualifications

• Current Texas or compact state physical therapist license
• Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience
