Med Surg RN Job in Des Moines, IA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a 22-bed Medical-Surgical unit at UnityPoint – Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, treating general medical and surgical patients, including those with renal, transplant, and urology conditions. This is a night shift role (3x12) with a patient ratio of 1:5–6 and an every-third-weekend schedule requirement.

Position Details

• Shift: 3x12 nights
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: November 9, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,358.72
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to work 1–2 Winter holidays, including Thanksgiving
• Travel and float across all campuses as needed

Requirements

• Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license
• Minimum 24 months of Med Surg experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• Renal, urology, and transplant care experience required
• Level II trauma experience; Level I trauma experience highly preferred
• At least one completed travel contract within the previous 15 months
• EPIC EMR experience required
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Med Surg skills checklist completion required
