RN - Acute Care

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with day and night rotation: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Day, night, weekend, and holiday rotation required
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department acute hospital experience required as a registered professional nurse
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI only), NIHSS
• New York State RN licensure required
• Assess patient needs and identify urgent or emergent care priorities for patients of all age groups
• Perform primary and secondary patient assessments including physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs
• Apply invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and therapeutic interventions to manage life-threatening and routine emergency situations
• Conduct triage and assign priority of care in accordance with ESI Triage Standards
• Collaborate with care team to provide direct patient care, apply appropriate interventions, and evaluate patient progress
• Establish rapport with patients and families, address comfort needs, and provide frequent updates
• Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and treatments and provide discharge education
• Document and report any suspicion of domestic violence or abuse across all age groups
• Maintain patient communication boards throughout the ED stay
• Delegate tasks and interventions consistent with individual education, training, and scope of practice
